Manteca Mayor Candidate

Manteca City Council Candidate

For too long we have seen year after year of unprecedented deficits and financial blunders that have caused our city finances to reach record lows with unconventional methods of running a city.  I intend to remedy it by focusing purley on our finances.  We simply can not afford to continue to spend recklessly or even on projects that are way ahead of their time such as ‘downtown’.  We can’t afford it, not now.

Since 2006 I have been on record informing the city that we’re headed for worse times more than bad times and I was right.  The media and other candidates currently on the council were wrong and disagreed with me and in fact are on record with wanting to spend more and they are continuing to do the same today.  I’m afraid that this is not the end and we’re headed for even more  troubles and financial deficits while we the citizens suffer with less police and public safety and the families of these men and women suffer even more hardships while we remain at a high tax rate.  Manteca has 12 less officers and Stockton will soon have 90 less officers along with many other cities within 60 miles of us such a Oakland with 80 less officers and Alameda County with less then 150.  And this is just to start with.  I say this because our safety is at stake and criminals are being released back into our population.  With less officers, we’re all a target of more crime.

This is not a way to run a city.  My plan is to attack the areas where we need to adjust and maneuver our resources in order to keep our priority services first and all others out of the red and into the black.

  • Public safety is on the top of my list and is a close first being second to our finances.  Our police needs to be at full capacity and staffed with the right men and women who can make it happen.  Our citizens need to be protected day and night by the best and this means we need to hire at a level where we need to be very competitive.

Our city is spending too much for services and consultants that have no ‘plans’ or even a clue as to what we really need.  Too much money is being given away and all the talk about jobs and housing are just a political rouse to take your mind off the facts that our current council has produced a city run by special interests and associations that milk the accounts.  It’s time for transparency and putting an end to such behavior by those who went from city worker to city retiree to city council.  I am not beholden to any special interest groups or organizations or developers.  This is why I do not accept endorsements.

  • I plan to implement a state-of-the-art city website that will work as a tool to communicate much better and also place all information online for all to see.  Transparency is what I promise and I will deliver on this.  By having this type of website we will also save time and money.  I have experience in this area and have helped many cities across the nation by using these principles in technology that I created and implemented.

I will not hire idea or fact finding staff persons because I can do this myself along with the many great citizens of Manteca who are more than willing to step forward with ideas and experience to back it up.  This is where I can do a lot for our city.  My background of creating ideas and then seeing them all the way through for a better solution is what I’m great at.

I’m running for City Council of Manteca for a reason.  I’m committed to putting an end to all these issues and problems and will only do what I know best which is to take the necessary action.

I plan to let go of personnel who have no purpose whatsoever in our city administration.  Each manager and director will be put on notice for their jobs and will have to show their performance and capabilities.  I plan to encourage city personnel to live in the city of Manteca if there are job openings available.  Most jobs should be filled by those living in Manteca.  If jobs are available in Manteca by stores having our support, then let’s make enough of those jobs available for our own who live in Manteca, not outside.  Our tax dollars = Mantecan’s First!

We are living in times where we have to bite the bullet and tone down our spending on things that we can put aside for now and focus on our survival and protection as a city.  All the other things we want can come later, but for now we need to focus on what is needed and required and put an end to politics that are ruining our city and destroying our police force which is a life line to our very existence.  I plan to get a better control of our RDA accounts and spending.  We need to have full transparency and better understanding for our citizens on this corporation.

  • As I have said in prior elections, I intend to tear down the current animal shelter and build a state-of-the-art facility that will be more humane, more efficient and better maintained.
  • I intend to focus on our library to make it more citizen friendly and capable of doing more.

We all know it’s time for someone new.  We all are feeling the sentiment of having incumbents sit and do the opposite of what the people want.  It’s time for the city council’s position to be one that does not have a background of working for the city and being on the council  because it will continue business as usual.  We’ve seen this happen time and time again and we’re living with the results of this fact.   For decades this promise of change from these types have done nothing but more of the same.

Let’s vote in new blood and usher in a new beginning.  Current council members and former city employees are not the answer.  Real progress starts with a fresh new direction.  Help me make Manteca safe again and debt-free.  That’s where I plan to start head-on!
